What is Product schema markup?
Product schema is structured data stating a product's price, availability and rating in machine-readable form, the markup behind the star ratings and prices shown in search results.
It carries the fields a shopper actually compares: price, currency, stock status, and an aggregate rating rolled up from reviews. Search engines use it to build the rich snippet, and AI shopping features increasingly pull the same fields directly rather than parsing prose off the page.
The field most worth getting right is availability, because it goes stale fastest. A Product node claiming in stock on a page that has been sold out for a month is a worse outcome than no markup at all, since it's a specific, checkable claim rather than a vague one, and being caught contradicting your own page erodes trust in every other structured claim you make.
