What is Organization schema markup?
Organization schema is structured data stating what a company is, in a machine-readable form: name, URL, logo, and the other profiles that represent the same entity.
Its job is disambiguation rather than persuasion. It gives an engine one canonical statement of who you are and, through sameAs, connects your site to the other places representing the same organisation, which is what lets scattered mentions resolve to a single entity.
What we will not claim is that adding it improves citation rates. There is no evidence we would stand behind for that, and plenty of vendors assert it anyway. The defensible statement is narrower: without it, there is no machine-readable answer to what your company is, and the engine assembles one from whatever else it finds.
