What is conversational search?
Conversational search is searching through a back-and-forth exchange in ordinary sentences, where each new question can refer back to what was already asked and answered.
Instead of typing a short string of keywords into a search box, a person asks a full question in natural language, gets an answer, and can immediately ask a follow-up that only makes sense in light of that answer, without repeating the context each time. The search system is expected to carry that context forward on its own.
This changes what counts as content worth writing for the channel. A page written to rank broadly for a short keyword is optimized for the old search box. A page that gets cited in conversational search tends to be one that answers a narrow, specific question clearly and completely, because that's the shape the actual queries take once people are typing full sentences with context already loaded in from the previous turn.

- GroundingGrounding is when a model answers using documents retrieved at the time of the question, rather than only from what it absorbed during training.
