What is a zero-click search?
A zero-click search is one where the user gets what they needed from the results page or an assistant's answer and never visits a website.
It is the mechanism by which AI answers reduce traffic without reducing demand. The buying question still gets asked and answered; the click that used to accompany it does not happen.
It is also why being named in the answer matters more as it grows. If the answer is the destination, appearing in it is the only form of visibility that survives.
